The Lao PDR divides the local administration into three levels: the provincial level ( Provinces and Capital city), the district level ( districts and municipal areas) and village level ( villages).

The judiciary organization consists of the People's Courts and Public Prosecution 
Institutes.

The People's Courts are the judicial organizations of the state, comprising of the People's Supreme Court, Appeal's Court, People's Provincial and Capital City Courts, People's District Courts and Military Courts.

The People's Supreme Court is the highest judicial organization of the state and manages the administration of the People's Courts at all levels and Military Courts and scrutinizes the sentences reached by these courts. -- KPL
