The Ministry of Information of Cambodia and the Ministry for Information and Culture of Laos have promoted bilateral cooperation on media and broadcasting.

According to AKP, an MoU on the bilateral cooperation was signed in Phnom Penh on May 4 by Information Minister H.E. Khieu Kanharith and his visiting Lao counterpart, Mounkeo Oraboun after a talk was held between the ministers of the two nations.

The purpose of the cooperation is to exchange information and promote the mutual understanding, friendship and knowledge between the peoples of the two countries.

The agreement also includes other issues relating to the exchange of TV programmes; the co-production of radio and TV programmes; the provision of government media services, information and printing documents; Information Technology; communication; visit exchange; training; research; and other things.

Upon arrival in Cambodia, on May 3 evening, a banquet was held at the Inter-continental Hotel in Phnom Penh in honour of Lao Culture and Information Minister H.E. Mounkeo Oraboun and his delegation that are on visit to Cambodia.

Also present was Lao Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Yaseng Lao.
